I finished the Soo Line Russell snow plow today with the installation of the graphics from Horizon Graphics in Somerset KY. All that is left now is to get enough snow to get it stuck and requiring a drag out locomotive to come and back it out of a 15' (Scale) drift to match some of the photos I have of Soo Line plows stuck in drifts up to the cupola back in the 40s' and 50's when I was a kid. Well, there are still some pieces that might be fit later such as some sort of actuating mechanism to operate the wings and another to operate the flanger. Here is a shot of the side with the O scale model on top. We had the O scale model scanned by JG Conversions, thanks to Kevin Sprayberry in Georgia who knew who to call to get this done. Once the DWG drawings were done the files were sent to David Newell in Wisconsin (Builder of our GP-9) and he had the parts for the plow laser cut in 14 gauge steel and the underframe in 10 gauge steel. Once all the parts were made it only took a couple of days to weld it all together. Here is a closer shot of the O scale plow on top of the large scale model. The view of the plow from the rear. I hope we do get at least one snowfall of some measure to get some video and photos of this machine in action.

That is a beautiful model. I enjoyed the photos of it plowing snow as well.
