Hello all, I'm a 65 year old, recently retired, 1 1/2" train guy, been so since I was 12 when my Dad belonged to LALS. Built dozens of engines through the years, mostly gasoline powered diesels and a few electrics. I'm currently a member of the Orange County Model Engineers in SO Cal and have a small 600 ft layout in my backyard. I have 4 engines, a few bench cars and freight cars, and even an electric Thomas my grandson rides. I am learning to be a machinist, with a lathe and mill. But I have never been into steam, until now that is. I just aquired a Little Engines American 4-4-0 that needs work and I know next to nothing about them. I'm hoping this forum will help me with resources, advice, etc.
