Why are all scale steamer forums always dead as a doornail? Ive been browsing several forums for a few weeks and the only new threads in all of them have been the ones ive started...
many of them the most recent post was summer last year or even older....
I cant believe the hobby is dying that fast..there must be another reason .....

Well- I still check this one out regularly as I have a commitment to the Kozo engine I'm building. Forums seem to need a certain critical mass of participation to keep people involved or they fade away. Plenty of people are around and active- finding them may be the issue You could check out Chaski...it's pretty active. www.chaski.org/homemachinist/

Maybe: a) we're all too busy building/rebuilding equipment; remember one of the big reasons the big boys dropped steam power was the cost - esp - manpower required to maintain the equipment. b) some of us aren't as comfortable on a keyboard as others are. We haven't discovered Dragonware yet.(?)
or maybe we can't get over this great weather this early in the season in the northern midwest.
