If I built and finished the Pennsy A3 Switcher, how much in terms of pulling power am I looking at?
I would like to put it at least three riding cars on it (:-

Depends greatly on the maximum grades and curves of your track. Full-size loco builders sometimes calculated a rolling resistance of 20 lbs per ton. If your loco weighs 80 lbs, and you use a factor of adhesion of 25%, then in principle it could haul a ton on level track, using this formula. A one percent grade would cut this by more than half, a 2 percent grade by more than 2/3, etc. Curves (especially sharp curves) also reduce the hauling capacity due to increased rolling friction.
