I shot some impromtu video at the Bitter Creek Western RR in SoCal during their Narrow Gauge Meet and July 4 meet this year, and compiled them into two edited pieces. For the narrow gauge movie, it is linked from here: www.bittercreekwesternrr.org/060812.htmlFor the July 4 movie, it is linked from here: www.bittercreekwesternrr.org/060704.htmlIf you are not on dialup, I highly reccomend spending the time to download the larger versions, as the detail is much better, which counts for a lot in this subject matter. I did not link the clips directly as we don't want to suck their bandwidth without providing a visit to their page. Thanks to them for being able to host the clips, which are higher quality than YouTube or Google Video's standard bit rate. BCWRR's layout is pretty astonishing, and I only cover a very small part of it in the videos. I have enough for a complete ride-around video, but that will have to wait till later. Most of the very large 2 1/2" scale engines you see are from Roll Models Inc. of Fresno, CA. They are excellent engines. The Alcalde & Coalfield saddle tanker was scratch built from plans modified by Jack Bodenmann, the others are usually built from castings or in one case delivered ready to run. (#9 Pleasant Valley) The GS-2 and GS-4 pacifics will blow your mind...I have a separate video featuring them as well that I'll post up at some point. Enjoy! --Mike (having down time on my A3 project while I upgrade my lathe with a quick change tool post)

P.S. suggested method for viewing the larger files is to right-click and save the video to a file, because it takes a lot of bandwidth to stream. one caveat: I think their server is sending the incorrect mime type as it changes the extension to AVI instead of WMV on the file name field, you need to make sure you save it as a WMV file or you may get a format warning in Windows Media Player, but it will still play it. Those of you on a Macintosh may check out Flip4Mac at www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx to play Windows Media Video.

If you're having problems viewing the videos from the first set of links, here's a temp alternate location for all my live steam vids: www.mojaveserver.info/vids/ Large and small versions. --Mike
