I have recently obtained Kozo Hiraoka's Penn. A-3 Swittcher (The first project for the beginner). I am Just that, a beginner. In this book Kozo recommends the Sievert Cyclone Torch for LP gas. I would like to get the kit with hose, regulator, torch and interchangable tips. The kit best for modeling purposes. Can any one tell me what kit to get and where to get it.

Hi Lee, I bought my torch set directly from Sievert. The following is what I ordered 3940-02 3900btu burner 2941-02 26000 btu burner 2943-02 88500btu burner 2488-47 universal handle 3062-93 regulator 3509-02 7" necktube 15121s 12' hose
So far I have used the small torch on the new shay frame and the medium torch on the wheels. They have worked out very well. The large torch is used for the boiler and I am not there yet. Sievert was very good to deal with and they shipped the same day I ordered. The selection of this equipment was recommeded by Ed Hume on a thread under the Kozo section of this site. You might want to look it up.

Lee, the thread was started by Jeff02 on the kozo support group. Topic was "Sievert torches? " If you go to the Sievert site you must check North America(upper rt hand corner). This gets you to NA which I guess has different part numbers than Sweden. Anyway if you don't have any luck the telephone no is 815-639-1319

Thaks Dave. It looks like the best way to go is threw Sievert. I called a few of their dealers and for some reason they seemed to have trouble matching up part numbers and giving specific awnsers to questions. I emailed Sievert and they shot it right back to me with the help I needed. Seem like good people.

NGT Models is the approved modeller outlet for Sievert Torches. We've been dealing them for years.

I could not get a return e-mail from Sievert regarding their torch. From this group I pretty much knew what I wanted.I did have a couple of questions though. After trying three times I was about to call them instead of email. That evening I noticed my neighbor had a plumber over.I asked him about the sievert torch. He said he used them often but bought a Victor turbo torch. He said he would stop by in the morning and let me try it out. He put the T-6 tip on,the large one.I annealed the copper sheet for the boiler in about 5 minutes. After trying to pay him for his time, propane etc ,he finally accepted a free lunch at a local diner. The following morning I ordered the torch online from Build.com. I got the Victor LP-1 Pro line standard Propane and Mapp kit.$218.16 This has two tips T-2 for most every thing , T-6 a large tip for the boiler. Every thing is included, two tips, handle, long hose, and regulator. Works on a standard Blue Rhino ( Lowes has them) barbecue type tank, tank is not included.
