Hi all I'm going to order directly from Sievert Also. One thing left off of Sieverts list was a hose. They have a 10' for $30.99 (1510IS) and a 12' for $34.65 (1512IS). Ed, what neck tube do you use?

Hi All, another question. Where do you buy Easy-flo 45 and what flux do you use with it? Thanks for the help. I really feel like a babe in the woods.

My neck is about 7" long - I am happy with it. You can buy flux and solder from McMaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com . McMaster Carr white flux is excellent - "Superior" brand. I use a mortar and pestle to make it homogeneous when I need to add some water. Don't trust your local welding shop for getting Cadmium containing solder if there are local laws against it. A local shop lied to me and sold me non-Cd solder, and it does not spread as well. Another source for solder is Stan Rubinstein Assoc - www.sra-solder.com - they have smaller wire and smaller minimum quantities. Not sure if they sell flux too. You need about 3 oz for an A3 loco. The 1/16" wire is good for the boiler work. The 1/32 wire from SRA is good for little plumbing pieces.

I just bought some easyflow 45 from Stan Rubinstein Associates in Foxboro Mass. Try www.sra-solder.com Also purchased a one pound container of superior 601 flux from them as well. The firm was suggested by someone on this forum and they're quite nice to deal with. I've also got a good source for Sulfuric Acid if you're interested: DGR Industrial Products at www.chemical-supermarket.com They seem devoted to getting small amounts of industrial chemicals into the hands of small shops who need them. Pretty cool. I'm buying my brass screws from Small Parts and scale steel fasteners from American Model Engineering Supply. Hope this list helps. Cheers, Charles Morrill

Hi all, Ed, thanks for the info on the neck. I just ordered from Sievert. Was told that there is a 6% increase on the prices quoted above but she gave me the prices quoted. If anyone else is interested in ordering make it quick to get lower price. Ed, also looked at your pictures on building the Hiesler and Climax. Absolutly beautiful. I hope those pictures stay up because I will be referring to them.
