We, at the Largo Central, had a rodeo this past weekend. ( BTW, thanks to all of the visiting engineers and their crews ) This was the most fun I've had, in the hobby, in a long time. Rumor has it that we may do this on a semi-regular basis.
My function, through most of the event, was to run a passenger train that served as a PITA to the crew swithcing cars. The high point, for me, was when a certain Shay had an eccentric strap problem and I towed him back to the yard with the F40-PH. Truely a sad day for a steam lover...

Pockets, I'd hide that smug smile iffin I was you.
Yea steamers fail more than Diesels, I know. Keep in mind, You will never be able to live it down if a steamer ever hauls you home.
hohohohohohoho

Victor, I am a true lover of steam. I got delegated to the F-40, a truely nice machine. However, from a camaraderie stand point, sometimes you just gotta twist a little tail. The secret is to be able to take a little more than you dish out.
BTW, I have been a ragboater and we would run the Columbia River bar ( in a Cascade 36 ) on days the commercial fishermen stayed home.....
