Hi All, I just got a Kozo book on the Climax, and there is an article in there that says there was a builder who ordered his gears through a supplier in "Live Steam Magazine" instead of making them. Does anyone know who that supplier is/was and if he still stocks them? Thanks; John

If you do some research on the inernet , I am sure you will find plenty of gear suppliers. If not look in your local Yellow Pages these items are usualy easily available, and sometimes a little cheaper when you eliminate the middle man. Browning, and Boston gears are 2 makers I know of, perhaps someone knows others? It not much but I hope this helps. Good luck and if you find some at reasonable prices post it , it could be of help to others at a lather date.
Cheers IronMan ;D

Yo Ironman, Good advice if you are building a Shay. Not so for a Climax. The bevel gears for this engine are special skew bevel gears . Check it out.

I have not seen any ads in LS for the Climax gears. That series was orginally printed a number of years ago and I believe that vendor is gone. If you have access to the orginal issuses of LS that ran the series you may find the vender's name. If you cannot make the gears following the book, I suggest making the regular gear model that Kozo shows in the back of the book

Sorry if I mislead you, I was going by the gears in the Shay book. I will eventually get all the Kozo books but not for now, money is tied up in building the A3. Good Luck IronMan
