Hello Guys,
Once the project gets moving a bit more forward, a problem of weight will arise. Moving all that steel and brass around will become a little dificult. I have seen a " Scissor Jack Frame " in Live Steam January 1984 no construction details to speak of, 4 pictures and a little information. I think this would come in handy for the larger scales and could also double up like a work stand, and easlily moved around on the wheels. ONce again I would like to make this available to whom ever wants it, its just the age old question of copyright. Anybody have any experience in this matter? should I write to Live STeam ? or just scan the one page and email it to the individuals interested. Do we have an area where we could post some files? or pictures of our projects ? we do not all have webb sites or the time and knowledge to do a good job of it. Anyone got an Idea? I find this forum extremely helpfull it does not mean that there could not be room for improvement everyone would benefit. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. I know we can post pics in the in the individual post, but there is no continuity. We are over 100 members someone must have some good ideas, dont be shy, speak out. ;D
Cheers, IronMan

Some months ago was a big discussion on Chaskys Live Steam Board about the ScissorJack Theme. Was many to see from different persons and clubs, and i think that nobody has a copyright for the principal things of a Scissor Jack constuction. When You make own scetches and drawings its not a problem to see, but when you use the drawings of another and give it to the public without permission then its a little problem to see. I have seen some of this things, the most are nearly brothers in design and material etc. But her in Europe its cheaper to buy a ScissorJack for a motocycle (so arund 300 to 500 kg load) and make a small modification for our needs. When You must buy the Material its more expensive. Scissor tables and Scissor Jacks with a loading capacity from 400 to 600 Kg and different mechanic and hydraulic construction are to become from 230 to 450 $. I thinks its not much more expensive in USA.

Those of you in the US, keep a eye on Harbor Freight sales. Look for the orange hydralic cart to be on sale. Make your tracks longer in the direction of the tender which has the lighter wieght. I use mine to assemble my lathe and move the mill, both near 1000lbs.

Jim,
That is a beauty !! Like I said a picture is worth a thousand words, no need for specs, we will figure it out. This is going to be a project worth placing on top of the priority list.
Cheers, IronMan ;D
