I am thinking it would be fun to build a small boiler capable of powering a few small oscillating engines. Does anyone have plans that they can share or know where I might get some? I like the horizontal boilers made from copper, not the vertical type.
Thanks, Jamie

Hello Jamie,
There is 2 books I know of, I have the first one, Builiding simple model steam engines, by Tubal Caine and the second is by the same author. It might be posible to find what you are looking for in the Yahoo groups that I posted in the links section. I do remember seeing some plans but I can not remember where in one of those groups, If you post the questions there you will get an answer and posibly some plans. PS. Are not not busy enough ?
Good Luck, IronMan ;D

Hi Jamie,
In my 1976 bound volume of Live Steam magazine there are plans for a small horizontal boiler that was to accompany a v shaped steam engine. I believed both projects were directed to the advance beginner.

I have one of those wilesco stationary steam engines that you can buy. It has a very simple boiler, copper tube, one end has a glass window, other end is capped off. No flue tubes, just a flame placed underneath of it works fine, I think it gets up to 30 psi.

I just received plans for a simple steam engine from Dons Plans from ebay. They are not expensive. Then you can download the instructions from his site.( have plenty of ink in your printer) I would install a proper safety valve. Forest Classics in the UK sells them cheap. Or perhaps one of the American dealers.
