Hi Guys, Well it stands to reason that once I have almosts finished turning my wheels, I came across the IBLS wheel standards. In the book the 3 degrees is the angle for the flange the standards are 2.5 max. I dont beleive it will affect the the wheels at least I hope it does not. Because they are mostly done. Anybody turned them at 3 * ? any problems ? or anyone done previous wheels on other projects using .5* more ? Thanks in advance for any information on this. Cheers IronMan

Does the standard not read 2 degrees 50 seconds?

Dear Group, Here is a link showing some IBLS standards. www.saunalahti.fi/~animato/3003/3003bk.htmlPerhaps the chart will help someone. Please remember I have just got interested in this hobby, so someone with experience should comment on whether or not the information is correct. BTW, this is from someone's site not mine. Rich

I cut them at 3 degrees, screw it, it'll work.

As near as I can calculate, the difference in radius at the outside edge of the tire when using 3 deg instead of 2 deg 50 min is all of 1 thousandth of an inch. I don't know about you, but my machining "skills" introduce more error than that!
