Has anyone considered, or tried, down scaling the A3 to run on 42mm track? Would I be able to divide all the dimensions by about 2 and get a working loco?
Thanks!

Hello Alan,
I dont know the answer to your question, I can only offer what I have learnt in the past year. First off there is never anything straight forward, to upscaling so I imagine down scaling is the same. Even though you can get a lot of help sometimes on some problems through this forum and others, you will still need to do the numbers crunching thing to make things work out. YOu may get stearred in the right direction but the rest is up to you. Anything is possible I have seen a 0 guage spirit fired Big Boy! entirely built from scratch ! You will need to redraw just about the entire project. But before you get that far, you already know the wheel guage, so take the measurement in the book and divide in half to see if things fit. Remember all is feasable with a little bit of patience. It is all I can offer for advise, perhaps one of the more accomplished and knowlegable member of this forum can give you a more definite answer.
Good Luck IronMan ;D
