There is an A3 in 3/4" scale at www.tedatum.com/thms/pennsy-a3.html. I am making enought Kozo trucks for 4 cars in 1 1/2" scale. I have been milling the bolster journal vertical parts. It took a few bandsaw blades to cut up the 5" dis HR for the blanks. Got my eight tires for the Heisler wheels, 16 car wheel blanks and a piece for the steam dome base from 36" of 5" HR. Check and recheck before you cut axles and bolster parts.

My web page must suck, I think I will take it down. Surely not worth my time.

Hey Bill, where did that come from? Your site doesn't suck... You just need to be like me and update it 4 times a day Also I must say that the guy on the site that DavidT sent out does some mighty fine work. Jamie

Yes, I emailed him too, he is a nice fellow. He is using Leaded steal for the wheels, the stuff machines like Aluminum, Really nice stuff to work with. Im using CRS, and it is much rougher looking. Wish I went with 12L14 instead of 1018.

Hey Bill, Your site is great also, along with Jamie's it inspired me to start on my project. What more could you ask? I think it is of real value to be able to pass on your experiences to others via the internet, otherwise there might be a lot more procastinators around than doers. Now when someone its a wall , the answer to his problems or possible solutions are viewed by many, and someone has the answer! Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so save time, keep taking pics ( and updating them ) and we will all be the wiser for it. Thank you , all who have and still take the time to keep us updated. Regards. IronMan

Everyone's elses page has less crap, and more to the point, Im going to redesign my page, get rid of the blah blah. Well, I have been busy in the shop, The south bend is kicking ass. Here are my tender wheels thus far. Im going to need to buy some brass so I can make that Mandrel, also, I think I would like to take advantage of the 3c collets for my Sb9, but all I have is the collar, not the thread protector or the draw tube. Well, when I get to making the axles, I'll worry about that then. As you can see, some wheels have Chatter marks, last few I got the tool bit right. Hard to grind tools on a grinder that has no tables.

My website is www.sergeantlewis.com which is maintained by my younger son. I will have to learn how to do that or get him to put up more train pictures under the "David's Machine Shop" section. David T
