Hi, I am keen on building Kozo's Shay currently being serialised in live steam as a first project; however dimensions and materials are metric. The dimensions are not a problem, as most of my tooling is metric, and I prefer working in metric, but where do I get metric materials in the US or Canada? Thanks, Clive

I built the climax in 3/4 scale, and it too is dimensioned in metric. Sheet brass and copper can be had in 1 2 and 3 mm thicknesses from MSC supply. Most other parts are milled from larger sizes anyway, and the shay is similar in that respect. Parts like frame rails can be imperial sized, with allowances for the small dimensional discrepancies.
