Anyone know of any events in reasonable driving distance (an hour or two) from Central PA the first two weeks in August? I'll be 45 minutes or so NW of Harrisburg (in Mexico) along 322 those weeks. Anything happening at Altoona?
Andy Pullen; anything happening Baltimore way then?
Of the organizations I know about in that area nothing I've found on the web seems to be scheduled around that time. But I wondered if anyone know more than what's advertised.

Hi Paul,
There's the Iron Fever Expo in York over the second weekend in York. I'm thinking of attending as is John Hudak from the Youngstown, OH area. There's a public runday at the Baltimore track on the 14th of July, too.
Wayne Godshall is a good one to look up. He's in Sherman's Dale, PA. I need to go up there and pick up a boiler for a customer in a week or so. He and his dad have about a mile of 1" scale track on the ground in their yards....

Unfortunately, Iron Fever is the day I head the opposite direction to return home. With an 11 hour road trip ahead of me and a family not so interested in this stuff I can't go there for a while and leave later.
If I can work it out I'll try to visit Godshalls.
Nothing down your way then I take it?

Not until the 14th...
The B&O Museum in Baltimore has a new restoration facility that one of the engineers told me about today. He was telling me that it is state of the art and that it's worth a look even if it's out of the way.
Maybe we could arrange to be at Godshall's the same day....If it's a Saturday.

Andy,
If it has to be a Saturday it would have to be August 6th since July 30 and August 13 are travel days to and from PA.
I am flexible about other days from July 31 through August 12 (being on vacation) but I assume you and they (Godshall's) are not.
If you're in contact with them and can arrange for the 6th let me know. If not maybe get me their contact info and I can see about visiting on my own at some point those two weeks.
I assume you can private message me somehow so as not to braodcast their contact info to the world without their permission.

I have a regular day off on the 1st, but I'm thinking that my event coordinator has something planned for that day. I'll check into it.
Check into the B&O museum in Baltimore if you would like to travel down there. I'd like to visit the new facility they have. And meeting you would be a good excuse.
