A magnificent hydraulic lift came up at auction in Ft. Myers Florida and I bid and won it. I went to Florida on Saturday and picked it up on Monday morning and managed to get all the way back home on Monday night.
Today we got some steel to make the rails for the lift and some forming lumber and set up for the concrete pad. After welding up the rails we started setting up for the concrete pad, I was surprised to have managed to get the pad ready for concrete in one day. We hope to have the concrete crew here next week to pour it and set the rails. We should be ready for train moving next week as soon as the concrete cures up.
Here are a couple of photos.
The new lift, electrically operated with a battery charged with a solar panel.
Compacting the DGA for a sub base.
Pad ready for concrete.

Looks like a good deal. This is for loading/unloading of guests locos or for you own locos to get them in the truck for traveling?

We finally got the slab poured, of course in the rain, but it really turned out very nicely. Here is a video of how it looks when finished.
The lift operates perfectly and now we hope that others will come with their equipment to run on our railroad.
