I have finished our model of a Soo Line F-7 from a machined kit from MDM. The paint work was done by a professional antique automobile painter in Somerset KY. The Phoenix sound board arrived this morning from Phoenix where I had to send it to have a new cap put on the horn function and we have it installed. We still have the window glazing to do but for all intent the engine is finished. We so enjoyed a late evening run with the flat figure 8 Mars light shining out over the headlight. The Mars light is from Gordon Briggs and it is magnificent. We have another pair of trucks coming for the caboose so we will have a complete train sometime next week. I will make some video soon and post it on the You Tube. The night running is so enjoyable. I can hardly wait for a snow night to get out and run with that Mars light seeking out the darkness. It will be as I remember train #13 coming in from Minneapolis. You could see that Mars light from about 8 miles away on a clear evening. Wonderful memories! Here are a few photos. Notice how that Soo Line maroon is bright in the sunlight and turns to a dark purple when in the shade? That too is a great memory. 01 F-7 complete by Ray Grosser, on Flickr 02 Soo Line f-7 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr 03 F-7 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr 04 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr DSC01267 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr DSC01272 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr Stay tuned for the video coming soon!

Well, the master has done it again! That is a beautiful engine - You do such fine work.
I always thought that the F series diesel locos were uniquely attractive because of all of the different railroad color schemes during the time before all the railroad mergers. Your engine is so outstanding! I am anxious to see the upcoming videos!

Hey Ray, that Soo Line freight looked real good on the Canton, St. Paul and Pacific Live Steam Railroad line! The Mars light was sure evident in the tunnel. Must have been a good time. Enjoyed the video!

Don, thank you for taking time to post. Yes, we had a great time in Georgia. The track and the people are wonderful and they have a place for us to park our RV trailer so we end up sleeping in our own bed there. It is just great.
I am still monkeying around with the video camera trying to find out if the focus can be manually set as at night in the lights it hunts for focus which is maddening. More to come later I hope.
