My model of a Soo Line shorty caboose is nearing completion. I have 5 windows yet to frame up and install as well as the head guards in the windows of the cupola. 03 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr End view showing the hardware, ladder, grabs, and the coupler cut lever. 04 by Ray Grosser, on Flickr Side view of 249 showing the truss rods and the turnbuckles on the rods for the cupola. The graphics are vinyl from Connie Miracle in Georgia and they are first rate. Relatively easy to install and they really make the car come to life. Once the 5 windows and the two end doors are installed the caboose will be ready to run. I have marker lights from Cannonball ordered but the roof is removable so the battery can be installed inside the car and the markers installed without problem. I plan to put the light switch inside the cupola. I will pick up the Andrews trucks at Canton from Wayne Godshall who made a pair just for this caboose. I need to find some leaf springs for it as well. Does anyone know of a 1-1/2 inch scale lamp for over the conductor's desk? That would really be nice if a lighted fixture can be found for it. None of the interior details can be seen very well but I did not want it to be empty so everything including the stove is in there but I did not make the ice box. We plan to be in Georgia for the meet next week and hopefully run this stuff to see if it will track like it supposed to.
