I was ordering a lot of material for the A3 the other day and somehow I ordered aluminum bronze 954. Can I still use this instead of phosphor bronze 544? I know the machining properties with be very different, but if I can machine it will I have a problem using it? I know for bearings/bushings it shouldn't be a problem, I didn't know about the boiler bits. I can order more I just hate to have aluminum bronze setting around to never be used. Maybe I can use it on everything but the boiler? What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Aluminum bronze is a very good material for bearings or sliding surfaces, but is more difficult to machine, and requires very sharp tools. It is difficult or impossible to silver solder. I have not heard of using it on boiler fittings, but it should be very corrosion-resistant.
