Greetings Gents, I'm interested in the live steam hobby. Like most of you, I've grown up adoring trains of all sorts and I'd like to build some scale models. I've seen plenty of pictures of the ride-on types, but I don't want to build anything that big. I'm looking for something that would run on a small outdoor track and wouldn't be too hard to display on a bookshelf sort of arrangement.
Is there anywhere that I can compare the scales and the physical size of a typical project locomotive. For instance, I've read a lot in the Kozo support about 3/4 in. scales, 1-1/2 in. scales, etc. But I don't really know what the finished projects are going to require in space and strength to move them around.
Thanks, Dave Kuechenmeister Lawrenceville, GA

Sounds like you want a Guage 1 model. 1/32 scale, supposedly. Really a bastardised scale, most models are not 1/32 but larger.
