Hi guys,
I might be working on something other than my A3 for the moment but I did not forget this forum, I do have a question that someone may be able to answer. I need to degrease /clean the fins on my motorcycle motor what kind of product can do the job? I tried dunking it in varsol no luck I would appreciate it if someone could steer me in the right direction on this. Thanks in advance, looking forward to getting back to the project, perhaps not till spring.

I know the feeling, (re not getting anything done on the A3) only for me it is partly for want of materials and want of free time. I have not tried any of these but here are a couple suggestions for cleaning aluminum: I think there is a product called Aluminum Jelly by the makers of Naval Jelly. You might also try the local auto parts store for products used for cleaning/polishing Aluminum mag wheels and such. Time, yes... something we seemed to have too much of when we were kids. Now that we know what we want to do with our spare time we dont have enough of it !
Well for cleaning the fins on the head I found that by using paint remover it does a good jobs of getting the grit off ! it is certainly stong enough to remove paint why not dirt? Now its back to the Q-tips to get the rest of the dirt away. Thank for the info.
