One of the first things that I want to change on my engine is to use bearings in the tender trucks instead of Kozo's barrel shaped bronze bushings. Has anyone ever done this before? I could use some help here if anyone wants to offer some.
Thanks, Jamie

I think, the only way to replace the original Kozo bearings its to use needle bearings. All others need to much place. But are the price of needlebearings and all th other problems worth the work and eventually the trouble (hardening achsles /axes? etc.)?

Have you seen Joseph F. Nelson's book "So You Want To Build A Live Steam Locomotive"? He has several diagrams of different bearing and jounal options

...You might even add the "R" to your journal that I just forgot! It's been a long day.

Thanks Brook, I will check it out. I think a buddy of mine has that book.
