Hello folks,
Just curious if anyone has built a steam donkey engine from the William Harris plans sold by Village Press ? I'd love some insight.
My equipment is still in transition from the garage to the basement.
This seems like a project that can be finished without breaking the bank.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve
I have the book and would like to build one. Not sure about the steel boiler. May do the boiler in copper. Would also like to change things so it looks more like a Willamette donkey engine.

I have the book and would like to build one but in 1:20.3 scale. I would do the boiler in copper. I have all the materials. Would also like to use servos to animate the operation.

I have one started but it will not be exactly true to the book. I am making slightly smaller drums (3 7/8 dia) as I only had some 4" cast iron on hand and my supplier is 200 miles round trip away.
I have made the pinion gear and the drum drive gears, and the frame. I am working on the clutch drums and the drum axle supports at the moment.
I have a friend that has it all done but the boiler.
Cheers,
Tom
