I am building a 1.5" scale,7.5" gauge loco. What size rail do I need for this loco? Found a good deal, but the rail is only 3/4 inch high thank you, paul

The flange height is only .141 on 1.5" scale wheels so there's no clearance problems. It sounds like you have typical light rail for 1.5" scale / 7.5" gauge engines. Real Trains sells rail for 1.5" scale that is .891" tall. 1" scale rail is .5" tall, so it's probably not large 1" scale rail. macmodels,
Consider the future first, could you obtain something later that works better on larger rail?
The other issue is ware. the 3/4" will not last as long as 1" and should you need to replace some in the future, may not be as available.
If you expect little growth or little use, then the 3/4" should work for you.
