Hello Ed, Just came across a web page of what looks to be a 1.5" scale 0-4-0 camel back made from some Gene Allen castings. He stated he used the Mercer prints for ideas as he built it. Thought you might be interested: ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/AllenLocos/photos/browse/9940Enjoy, Pat Young

Hi Pat,
I joined that group and took a look. The 0-4-0 is a nice job - I like seeing a well done, neatly painted and trimmed loco. Thanks for posting that.

Ed I'm looking to buy the Live Steam Magizine from the 70's that has the #1173 camelback locomotive in it. Can you tell me which issue it is in.
Since I now own #1173 camelback. I am trying to get this locomotive back on the tracks. And this would give me some inside info on my loco. Thank you in advance.
Gene

Gene, I do not have most of the 1970's in my collection, but I found this index online- www.goldengatels.org/library/Periodicals/Live%20Steam%20Database.txtI think you may want Dec 1975: Live Steam; Dec 1975; 2-4-2 Camelback; Angus R. Walker;; Model locomotive description There is not one on ebay right now, but if you keep checking, it will surface. Good Luck, Ed
