Hi all, I have built the 3.5" gauge A3 and have been doing some steaming trials. After fixing a number of issues, the A3 runs well but I am unable to maintain running steam pressure, the steam is not being replaced but the pressure eventually drops and I need to use the electric blower again to build up steam. Fellow club members think I may have drafting issues. Has anyone encountered the same problems or do you have advice to give ? Thanks nelsonedgar

Hi nelsonedgar I have purchased an A3, builder unknown. I have had similar problems and after trying to do several things, came to the conclusion that it was the coal I was using. I switched to Welch coal and it seemed to straighten out the loss of pressure. I haven't tested completely because I had other problems but it scertainly solved the problem of losing steam pressure. Try the Welch coal
