More progress on the bridge. We finished staining the wood and we installed filter fabric under the bents, then placed 2" crushed rock on top so mowing or weed eating will a thing of the distant past.
We started laying rail--my plan was to lay the outside curve rail and on another day do the inside rail. We just kept working and ended up doing both rails but installing the fasteners will have to wait for another day. My 75.3 years old knees decided that they had enough and forced my hands to quit. You would have thought it was a union job.
Rails installed but not completely secured to the ties. That is for another day.
Rock is in place over the filter fabric.
As soon as the bunk of ground contact 2X6X8 lumber arrives we can finish the ends and start making track panels to join up the ends to the main line.
We will be building some hand rails. I am going to do what Joe Holbrook told me about. The stanchions will be made of 1X1 tubing with cable running on the center line and 1/2" black iron pipe running over the top. I will need to make a fixture to weld the stanchions up all the same, then screw or bolt them to the ties.
We are taking video and I will make another flick as soon as we get enough done to make it fun.

So impressed with your work, Ray. It's a beautiful trestle.
